IMMORTAL in the MOWA

As The Street exhibition comes to a close, I’d like to say thank you to everyone who visited my piece, IMMORTAL. The amount of time and energy that we artists spend are what gives these the name “works” of art. So much focus, materials, and for me, measuring, mapping and moving this particular painting took a lot, and it was worth every moment to be able to share it with you. Without all of the physical effort, it would have remained a dream and now that she was born, I can’t imagine the world without her. I’m moved in the presence of what was once just 2 pine panels, knowing I was guided completely throughout as each layer took shape. I had to trust the intuition; being shown where to draw lines, what colors to choose, and urged not to give up when it was 2am and I painted in the dark to finish on time.

Thank you to: the team at the MOWA, Curator Anwar Flloyd Pruitt, all of the artists who shared their talent in this show, my family for their support and all of you who visited and bought prints . My soul is channeling these for humanity, so I especially thank every person who appreciates them.

IMMORTAL will be in storage, until she finds a new home or gallery. Contact
